Simon Pegg, award-winning actor and writer, 54, faces his second driving ban in three years after he was caught speeding in one of London’s 20mph zones.
In 2021, Pegg served a six-month ban after totting up a total of 13 penalty points on his licence for four speeding offences, receiving the mandatory totting up ban and was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs, but Pegg is now back in trouble after admitting a further speeding offence in Hackney on October 24 last year.
Pegg attended Lavender Hill magistrates’ court last month, pleading guilty through the single justice procedure and now faces another potential ban in line with laws.
Lavender Hill magistrates’ court documents state that Pegg was behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG in Hackney Wick in the morning, when it was flashed by a speed camera, going at 36mph in a 20mph zone.
According to The Standard, Pegg entered a guilty plea in writing with no mitigation, a court official confirmed, and a magistrate heard the case against Pegg in private on May 20th, with sentencing being adjourned until a hearing on June 24 “to consider disqualification from driving.
